Germany Pavilion’s “STRESSTEST” on climate

Convention between Medicine Center and Confcommercio Venezia

It is called “Venice for Prevention,” and it is the memorandum of understanding signed between the Center for Medicine and Confcommercio Venezia to give businesses in the trade, tourism and service sectors access to subsidized benefits in terms of training, prevention screenings and direct welfare or through access to health insurance funds and funds. The goal is to strengthen the culture of prevention in the more than 2,000 member companies between Venice and the province, an area rich in business but where the culture of attention to health can still improve, especially with theopportunity offered by integrative welfare and the network of contracted facilities that work alongside public health, focusing on the prevention of both male and female cancers.
“Business today is increasingly focused on protecting the health of workers,” said Vincenzo Papes, CEO of Center for Medicine, ” both to build workerloyalty and to ensure greater occupational well-being, understanding the importance of early and rapid diagnoses, including the impact and cost to the community in public spending. As Massimo Zanon, President of Venice Metropolitan Confcommercio added: “Information, awareness and prevention are three pillars for health care, today it becomes essential to convey them in the world of work as well, with this basis this agreement dedicated to entrepreneurs, staff to their families was born.”
ULSS3 Serenissima: summer 2025 under the banner of health

It’s been a busy July 2025 for ULSS3 Serenissima of Venice: from the signing of agreements, to new construction sites and machinery, to prevention and first aid training activities directly at the beach as part of the annual “Safe Holidays” campaign activities. “These are all signs that we are paying attention and demonstrating that even on the issue of the health proposal, many concrete steps are being taken in Venice and the other territories of ULSS3. Every day, we collaborate across institutions to line up concrete steps for the benefit of those who inhabit the area, whether residents or not“, explained General Manager Edgardo Contato.
Particularly relevant is theagreement that guarantees free primary care medical service for all out-of-town students living in Venice at the former Gb Giustinian Hospital facility starting in September this year. “This isan important addition to what has been done since the pandemic to date,” adds the executive , “the list of initiatives built through dialogue with entities in the area is very long: to look back and see all that has been done, with the active collaboration of local institutions, even by small steps, is a good look.
“Sustainable” food: from the crisis an opportunity

Grave times are running for our poor planet and for all of us: climate change, with the ominous consequences of extreme heat again this summer and torrential rains with hydrogeological risk in large areas of the country, wars, difficult availability of raw materials, the recent pandemic… Not exactly a great time!
In trying to come out ahead, even a few individual behavior changes play a key role and can make a difference. Speaking of nutrition, what can we do about it? What steps to take to have a smaller impact on the planet? Slow Food launched the slogan “Feeding Good, Clean, Fair and Healthy” a few years ago (read more here: https://www.slowfood.it/cosa-facciamo/cibo-salute/ and here: https://www.slowfood.it/il-buono-pulito-e-giusto-secondo/). But what does it really mean?
